Baby View is the original integrated car baby camera. A soft, character-fronted camera (Cat, Dog or Panda) mounts to your vehicle's headrest and streams a clear, live Full HD 1080p view of the back seat straight onto your car’s Apple CarPlay screen. No extra mirrors, no reaching for a phone, no turning around at the lights — just a calm, glanceable view of your little one while you keep your eyes on the road. It comes complete with everything you need to get started.
Yes — Baby View displays through wired Apple CarPlay, so you’ll need a vehicle (or aftermarket head unit) that supports CarPlay and an iPhone. Most vehicles built from around 2016/2017 and onwards to current years include it. If you’re not sure whether your car is supported, run your make, model and year through our compatibility checker before you buy.
How to check if your car has wired Apple CarPlay:
Plug your phone in your vehicle's main data USB port — if Apple CarPlay pops up, it’s supported.
Note: Vehicles that only support "wireless CarPlay" without an additional wired option are not compatible.

Yes. Baby View works with iPhone smartphones when connected to a vehicle that supports wired Apple CarPlay.
For Apple CarPlay users, the camera can be viewed alongside other CarPlay features such as navigation, calls and music on compatible vehicles that support split-screen or picture-in-picture viewing.
(iPhone users running iOS 10 or later can use the product)
Wired systems require your phone to be plugged into the car via a data USB cable to activate Apple CarPlay.
Wireless systems allows your phone to connect automatically using Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, without needing a cable.
Bubbasafe Baby View works with vehicles that have wired Apple CarPlay as factory installed standard.
If your car only supports wireless CarPlay from the factory, Baby View will not be compatible.
However, some cars with wireless CarPlay can also still support wired CarPlay — check your vehicle to confirm if it uses both wireless and wired systems together.
Some vehicles that have both wireless and wired systems, the infotainment may limit accessory connections due to the way the infotainment system manages Bluetooth and WiFi sessions. In these cases, using wired CarPlay provides the most stable experience.

Baby View works in vehicles that support factory wired Apple CarPlay. However, compatibility and display behaviour may vary depending on the vehicle's infotainment system, smartphone model and software version.
Apple CarPlay functionality can vary depending on the vehicle's infotainment system and manufacturer software.
Some compatible vehicles may support split screen viewing, while others may only support picture-in-picture, or may display the camera in full-screen mode only. These differences are determined by the vehicle's CarPlay system and are not a limitation of the Baby View device.
This product is a wired-to-wireless adapter and must be plugged into a USB data port (not a charge-only port).
This USB data port is located usually in the following areas:
- Centre console (inside the armrest or just in front of it)
- Dashboard/Infotainment area (near the screen, climate controls or gear shifter)
(Some cars like Audi, Mercedes, VW have the main data usb in the glove box.
In your product box, you will receive a USB Type-A to USB Type-C adapter connector.
You will be able to attach this to the Baby View USB receiver to convert it from USB Type-A to USB Type-C and plug it into your car.
Your phone will connect to a wireless CarPlay software which is provided by our Babyview USB receiver, so you will no longer need to use a wire to connect to your phone.
When the camera transmitter is powered on, it will automatically connect to the USB receiver (without the use of WiFi) and this will merge the live camera feed onto the wireless CarPlay screen on your dashboard monitor.
Overall, the USB transmitter does three things in the one USB data port;
- It gives your car a wireless CarPlay software, instead of wired.
- It connects the camera transmitter without WiFi.
- It connects to your phone wirelessly to CarPlay via bluetooth so you can take phone calls, use maps, play music etc.
Yes, under certain conditions.
Yes, aftermarket head unit systems will work, as long as the head unit has a wired CarPlay system and it has been been fitted and installed into the car infotainment system.
If the afternarket head unit offers wireless CarPlay via a dongle or built-in upgrade, then it will not be compatible.
Yes, your car will need to have a touch screen display in order to press onto the buttons and features of Baby View.

No. Baby View displays directly on your existing car screen — no additional monitor required.
Absolutely. Baby View has built-in infrared night vision that switches on automatically in low light, giving you a clear black-and-white view after dark or on early-morning drives. The infrared is completely invisible, so you can check on a sleeping bub without any light disturbing them.
No. The camera does not have batteries. It is almost like an adapter feed, which only connects once the car is powered on - hence why the camera can only be turned on via a cable when the car is on.
It does not have any batteries, so you can leave it installed permanently in your car in all weather conditions.
The camera does not need to be charged, as there are no rechargeable batteries.
Privacy & Data
No. Baby View does not record, save, or store any video.
No. Baby View does not use cloud storage or upload any data.
Baby View does not use Wi-Fi. It works entirely offline. No mobile data is used.
The system creates a direct local transmission connection between the camera and USB receiver.
Bluetooth is only used for when connecting to your phone for CarPlay functions.
No. No one can access the camera feed.
The connected phone can only connect via bluetooth the access CarPlay functions, but it will not be able view the camera feed.
No app is required. Baby View works directly through your car’s CarPlay interface.
Setup & Installation
Installation is straightforward and does not require professional help. It's a simple plug-and-play set up.
Mount the camera in a suitable spot, connect it with the included cable and usb, and the view will display on your car’s screen.
No. Baby View does not require drilling or permanent modifications.
The camera can be mounted using either:
- Adjustable straps around the headrest, or
- A bracket fixed to the headrest support rods.
Baby View connects to your vehicle through the USB data port used for Apple CarPlay.
The included USB receiver allows the camera system to integrate with your vehicle's infotainment display.
When connected, your iPhone will pair with the vehicle's Apple CarPlay system through the Bubbasafe USB receiver's bluetooth. This means you will no longer need to use a wired cable to connect to your phone to your car.
The camera transmitter then sends the live video feed wirelessly to the receiver, which displays it on your vehicle's screen. This allows you to view the baby camera while continuing to use supported CarPlay features such as navigation, calls and music on compatible vehicles.
The USB transmitter performs the following functions:

Yes. Baby View is designed to be safely left installed in your vehicle for everyday use. It powers on and off automatically with your car, so there’s no need to remove it between trips. Many families choose to keep it permanently installed for consistent peace of mind.
Performance & Daily Use
Baby View provides a real-time video feed with minimal latency under normal operating conditions. Any occasional lag, delay, or dropouts are generally related to the vehicle’s infotainment system, Apple CarPlay connection, phone performance, or software environment — not the Baby View hardware itself.
Wired CarPlay performance can vary significantly between vehicle manufacturers, infotainment systems, software versions, USB power stability, and mobile devices. Some vehicles may have slower or less optimised infotainment hardware/software, which can affect CarPlay responsiveness and video streaming performance.
Common factors that may impact performance include:
• Vehicle infotainment system processing capability and software optimisation. The vehicle's processor/software can sometimes struggle with CarPlay data flow.
• Vehicle USB port power/data stability. Some vehicles deliver inconsistent power/data through the USB port. Small interruptions can disconnect CarPlay.
• Apple CarPlay software behaviour and compatibility
• iPhone model, iOS version, and device performance. iOS updates sometimes create temporary CarPlay bugs. Certain iPhone models behave differently.
• Background apps, navigation usage, charging load, or device overheating
For example; Heavy phone usage + phone charging + navigation can overload the connection.
• Poor quality, damaged, or non-certified cables/adapters
As Baby View operates through Apple CarPlay, overall connection stability and responsiveness are dependent on the vehicle’s native infotainment system and connected device environment. Performance may therefore vary between vehicles and devices.
Some vehicle systems can be less mature, less polished and have slightly slower hardware/software wise.
Bubbasafe cannot guarantee identical performance across all vehicle makes, models, software versions, or phone configurations. Occasional latency, or connection interruptions caused by external vehicle, phone, software, or CarPlay-related factors do not indicate a fault with the Baby View unit itself and are not considered a manufacturing defect.

Yes. You can disconnect one phone and connect another.
Bubbasafe operates through an external system that plugs into the vehicle, which means the car’s built-in Bluetooth is temporarily overridden.
When the camera is active and displayed, the vehicle gives priority to that input. As a result, standard in-car features like Bluetooth calls and media are temporarily disabled, even if the phone would normally connect wirelessly.
This happens because the vehicle is effectively running through the external system via the USB receiver, which projects onto the car’s screen. For iPhone users, the phone will no longer pair with the vehicle’s original Bluetooth. Instead, it connects to the USB receiver’s Bluetooth, allowing calls, maps, and other functions to be mirrored through the display while the camera is in use.
Baby View prioritises the most recently connected iPhone.
To switch devices, disconnect CarPlay on the current phone (or turn off its Bluetooth), then connect with the other phone.
Like all Apple CarPlay, the connection relies on the vehicle's USB data port and infotainment system.
Occasional disconnections can occur due to vehicle infotainment system behaviour, phone software, or CarPlay interactions. Reconnecting, resetting, or updating the system usually resolves this.
In some vehicles, connection stability can vary depending on:
• The USB port used in the vehicle
• The phone model or software version
- The vehicle's infotainment system software
In some vehicles, the USB data port may temporarily:
- Drop power briefly
- Reset the CarPlay session
When this happens, the camera feed may disconnect until the system reconnects or the USB receiver is reinserted.
Some vehicle infotainment systems prioritise navigation or Apple apps, which may cause accessory video feeds to reset when multiple apps are running.
Certain vehicles may also limit background video feeds or split-screen applications, which can cause the camera display to refresh or reconnect.
These connection behaviours are related to the vehicle's infotainment system and smartphone, and are not a fault of the Bubbasafe Baby View device.
Yes. Baby View automatically reconnects when the car is restarted.
System updates can be completed using your phone’s browser via a local connection, following the steps in the manual.
Restart the receiver, reconnect your phone, and ensure your system is up to date.

Every Baby View comes with a 6-month manufacturer’s warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship, on top of the guarantees you’re entitled to under Australian Consumer Law. Yes. Our Extended Warranty adds an additional 6-months of cover for $35, taking you to 12 months of total protection. You can add it to your order at checkout or purchase it separately from the shop at any time while your original warranty is still active.
We offer a 30-day change-of-mind returns window. If Baby View isn’t quite right for you, return it within 30 days in original, resalable condition for a refund.
