Baby View is designed to give you a calm, glanceable view of the back seat. It is a driver-assistance and monitoring aid — not a replacement for safe driving, full attention to the road, or the safety systems already in your vehicle. Please take a moment to read how to use it responsibly.
You are always in control of the vehicle.
Baby View helps you stay connected to your little one, but it can never replace your own judgement, awareness, or full attention on the road. When you are driving, please:
- Keep your eyes on the road and your hands on the wheel — glance at the screen only when it is safe, the way you would a rear-view mirror.
- Never adjust settings, stare at, or become absorbed in the screen while the vehicle is moving.
- If your child needs your attention, find a safe place, indicate, and pull over completely before attending to them.
- Install the camera, cabling and mount securely so nothing can come loose or become a hazard in a sudden stop or collision.
- Follow all local road rules and the road laws of your state or territory at all times.
The driver is solely and always responsible for the safe operation of the vehicle and the safety of everyone in it.
Intended use
Baby View is a convenience and monitoring aid that streams a live view of your rear-facing child seat to your compatible Apple CarPlay display. It is intended to help a driver keep a calm, occasional eye on a child in the back seat without twisting around or fitting extra mirrors, reducing the temptation to take your eyes off the road for long periods.
Baby View is not:
- a substitute for full, active attention on the road, other traffic, pedestrians and conditions;
- is not intended to replace direct supervision or adult care;
- a replacement for a correctly fitted, Australian-standard child car seat or restraint;
- a medical, breathing, or vital-signs monitor — it does not detect distress, choking, or any health condition, and must never be relied on for that purpose;
- a security, dash-cam, or collision-recording device;
- a reason to leave a child unattended in a vehicle at any time. Never leave a child alone in a car, even for a moment — doing so can be dangerous and is against the law.
Baby View should only ever be used by the driver as a quick, glanceable reference — in the same way you use a rear-view or blind-spot mirror — and only when it is safe to do so.
You remain fully responsible for the health, safety, and well-being of your child at all times, including following safe sleep, health, care, and road safety guidelines.
Correct installation
A secure installation is essential. A loose camera, bracket or cable can distract you, obstruct a restraint, or become a projectile in heavy braking or a crash. Please install Baby View carefully and check it regularly.
Mounting the camera
- Fix the camera to the headrest of the seat directly behind your child using the supplied strap and mount, following the printed instructions in the box.
- Make sure the strap is firm and the mount cannot rotate, slip, or fall onto the child below.
- Position the lens so it captures your child clearly without interfering with the child seat, harness, airbags, or any part of the restraint system.
- Keep the camera and any small parts out of your child’s reach — small components can be a choking hazard.
Cabling and power
- Route all cables tidily along existing trim so they cannot snag, dangle near the child, or tangle with a seat belt or harness.
- Never let cabling obstruct the driver’s controls, pedals, gear selector, or view.
- Use only the supplied cables and connect to your vehicle exactly as described. Do not modify the hardware or wiring.
Before every trip
- Give the camera and mount a quick tug to confirm they are still secure.
- Complete the pairing and screen setup before you begin driving, never while the vehicle is moving.

Limitations of the technology
Baby View is carefully engineered, but like any electronic device it has real-world limits. Understanding them helps you use it sensibly and avoid over-relying on it.
Night vision
The infrared night vision provides a helpful, glanceable view of your child in low light and darkness without disturbing them. However, infrared footage is in black and white, has a shorter effective range than daylight, and can be affected by reflections, obstructions, bright oncoming headlights, or condensation on the lens. It is a comfort feature for occasional glances — it is not a substitute for stopping and checking on your child in person when needed.
Wireless range and signal
The camera transmits wirelessly to your vehicle’s display. This connection is designed for the short distance within a car, and the image may briefly lag, drop out, or pixelate due to interference, or environmental factors. Never treat a frozen, delayed, or missing image as confirmation that all is well — if in doubt, pull over safely and check.
General limitations
- Image quality depends on lighting, lens cleanliness, camera angle, and your vehicle’s screen.
- The device does not alert, alarm, or record, and cannot interpret what it sees.
- Software, hardware, or vehicle CarPlay behaviour can occasionally cause interruptions outside our control.
Because of these limitations, Baby View should always be treated as a helpful extra — never as your primary or only means of caring for your child in the vehicle.
Your responsibility & road laws
Use this system only when traffic, road, and environmental conditions permit.
Road rules relating to distraction, screens, and mobile devices vary between states and territories and can change over time. It is your responsibility to understand and comply with the laws that apply where you are driving. Using Baby View must never cause you to breach those laws.
The driver must always prioritise safe vehicle operation, comply with all road rules, and avoid distraction.
Always wear a seat belt. The safe operation of the vehicle remains the sole responsibility of the driver.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bubbasafe accepts no liability for any loss, injury, damage, or penalty arising from misuse of the product, incorrect installation, reliance on the device in place of safe driving, or use of the device contrary to these instructions or applicable road laws.
